Large Metro Atlanta Data Center Facility Nitrogen Pre-Action System
Quality Technology Services, Inc. (QTS) purchased the old Sears Southeast Distribution Center in Atlanta, Georgia. They converted it into a state-of-the-art 970,000 sq/ft facility known as QTS Atlanta-Metro Data Center, with 530,000 sq/ft of data center, including 453,000 sq/ft of 48” raised floor space.
ProTech Fire was there from the start through completion, providing the fire sprinkler design and installation in four of the six phases of construction that covered a period of almost ten years.
The project included the demolition of hundreds of feet of pipe to replace it with Total Pac pre-action systems. At project completion, a total of 30 self-contained pre-action systems, 16 wet systems and five dry systems had been installed in addition to a complex Nitrogen corrosion protection system.
